These townhouses were built in 1987 on the site of the Elizabethan-styled Burton Flats Apartments constructed in 1902 and financed by John D. Hearn.  The original 1902 Burton Flats Apartments had all of the modern amenities of its time including, “large refrigerators on each floor for the use of its tenants; also freight and passenger elevators, a complete telephone system, electric door openers from each apartment…”

Burton Flats was demolished in 1986 after a fire.  Some of the historic elements of the original structure was saved and incorporated in the construction of these homes, nicely incorporating them into the fabric of the neighborhood as you can see before you.
