This structure known as the La Salette Academy was the first academy established in the diocese. The Seven Sisters of Charity of Nazareth arrived in Covington in 1856 to open the academy and take charge of the Cathedral school. In 1886, the Sisters built a two-story structure at the southeast corner of 7th Street and Greenup. In 1903, a third story was added.
Today the La Salette Academy operates as an apartment complex.
