The area of Covington, Kentucky known as the Licking Riverside Historic District is recognized as one of the premier historic districts in Greater Cincinnati.

The District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1971. Thanks to the ongoing efforts of those who know that the unique history of the area is worth preserving, it remains as vibrant and as alluring as ever.

It has been said that, at it’s best, preservation engages the past in a conversation with the present over a a mutual concern for the future.
— William Murtagh, first keeper of the National Register of Historic Places
